One of the great pleasures of living in Dover is the abundance of wildlife that comes to our front door. Unfortunately one of the great troubles of living in Dover is the abundance of wildlife that comes to our front door. The rabbits like our garden. The squirrels are destructive and pushy. The skunks are . . . well, they’re skunks.
But back to the pleasures. The birds. I love the birds. Here are few of our regular visitors.
This young cardinal is molting and his adult coloring is developing. He is much more scrappy looking than these photos show. I had one that showed his colors, but it wasn’t sharp. But he has definitely earned his childhood nickname of “Patches.”
